The Siemens Sirius line of 3RT1035-1A contactors are suitable for use wherever a 3 pole, IEC, UL and CSA rated contactor is appropriate. This size S2 contactor is used in applications up to 40 horsepower at 460v for three phase applications. Additional auxiliary contacts, up to four poles, can be added on the top or side of the contactor. In addition to auxiliary contact blocks, thermal magnetic or solid state overload relays can be added to these Siemens contactors to provide full motor starter protection in the case of an over amperage situation. For mounting purposes, the contactors can either be mounted directly on standard 35mm DIN rail or screwed directly onto the back of the panel or mounting plate.

An extensive range of auxiliary switch blocks is available for various applications. The contactors themselves do not have an integrated auxiliary conducting path. One 4-pole or up to four single pole auxiliary switch blocks (with screw or Cage Clamp connections) can be snapped onto the front of the contactors. When the contactors are energized, the NC contacts open before the NO contacts close. The terminal designations of the single-pole auxiliary switch blocks consist of location digits on the basic unit and function digits on the auxiliary switch blocks. In addition, 2-pole auxiliary switch blocks (screw-type terminals) are provided for cable entries from above or below in the style of a four-connector block (feeder auxiliary switch).
