These Siemens reversing assemblies are comprised of two electrically identical contactors, in this case two 3RT2018-1AB02 rated for 16 AMPS each. They are mechanically held through an interlock that is installed between the two contactors which physically prevents one contactor from engaging while the other coil is actuated. The electrical interlock provided connects the two normally closed auxiliaries and prevents electrical engagement at the same time. For motor protection a direct mount electronic or thermal overload must be attached to satisfy this requirement.
